Summer is slowly fading away, a perfect time for hiking and winetasting.
We start at Wine Museum Kitzeck, which is not just the highest situated wine museum in Europe, it is also the very first museum of its kind in Styria.
It will unveil the making of wine as we have been doing it for over thousand years. In an ancient farmhouse we learn about the development of wine production and the tools in use.
As we are right at the start of the Wine Museum track, you might like to hike the entire roundtrip trough wineries, fishponds, mills and much more.

We will have late lunch at a "Buschenschank“. Without wine, there is no wine tavern “Buschenschank” and without Buschenschank there is no southern Styria. The so-called "mecca "of the Buschenschank.
But not just everyone can call themselves Buschenschank. The rules are clear: just the ones who are running a winery or orchard can become a Buschenschank.
Cold dishes and homemade pastries and bread are served, wine and fruit juices and all from their own production or a farmer nearby. Traditional culinary experiences at its best.
